The practice of veterinary medicine is not as simple as it used to be, and especially the applied methodology of management.  Today’s litigious society, Internet-educated clients, and consumer advocates have forced many changes upon veterinarians as to how they should manage the veterinary practice.

This complexity is growing by leaps and bounds every day.  Therefore, it has become a necessity for most veterinary hospitals to seek assistance and hire a trained and competent hospital manager.  A veterinarian cannot afford to be a manager and a pet healthcare provider at the same time.

Based on this logic, this course is going to address the skills, good traits and bad traits, what makes a good manager, and what’s the real job of a manager.  I also address the hottest questions, like whether a veterinary hospital should even hire a manager and whether a veterinarian’s spouse should be the manager.  Understanding and knowing these complex issues will be helpful to those who want to succeed in this profession.

This seminar/lecture provides an interactive and monitored learning opportunity for practicing veterinarians and veterinary technicians.  We will focus on the role of the veterinary hospital manager in order to practice better veterinary medicine and boost the efficiency, proficiency, and profitability of the veterinary hospital.
